2nd Annual Geek Mob Invites “Gifted” to Help Autism Awareness

Comic books, costume contests, and other nerdery all for a good cause? Sign me up!

On August 28, 2012, Roanoke, VA will celebrate the second annual “Geek Mob: International Read Comics In Public Day.” Held again at the downtown Roanoke public library, there will be tons of stuff! The bands “Another Roadside Attraction” and “Madrone” will perform along with a great Hip-Hop DJ “Harvest Blaque”. There will be a Superhero Tie Dye making table from “A Little Bit Hippy” (a great local store), puppets from “Puppets In Performance”, costume contests and much, much more.

More importantly, there will also be a raffle to raise money for Autism Awareness! Proceeds will go to the Blue Ridge Autism and Achievement Center. I’m handing over 2 copies of Gifted, a Donovan Circus Novel to the raffle in hopes to help raise some cash for the cause. Considering it’s a nerdfest, they’ll dig an X-Men Meets the Circus book, right?

For more information, check out the Facebook pages below and hopefully we’ll see you around 5pm at the downtown Roanoke public library on August 28th!
