(You can find Melissa on Twitter here or fan her on Facebook here. Make sure to keep up with her amazing books!)

What would you find in your refrigerator right now?

Not much! I have to go shopping!! But there is always a bottle of ketchup, at least half a block of cheddar cheese, a pitcher of cold water and a carton of pineapple juice.

If you could wave a magic wand and have any career (besides writing) what would it be?

Hmmmmm – something to do with working on a movie set….producer would be fun, but I’d also take make-up artist…that’d be super cool too 🙂

What inspires you out of writer’s block?

Going for a walk, taking a shower or cooking something. Those three tasks just seem to get my brain ticking over problems 🙂

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?

Um – eeepppp!! Not sure! How about: The Girl Who Couldn’t Stop Dreaming

If you took the aptitude test from Divergent, which faction would you be assigned to?

I haven’t read Divergent! I know, I know, I’m terrible.

Which of your characters is most like you?

Caitlyn Davis probably. She’s coming up in my new series – The Masks Series. True Colors is being released February 16th, 2014. Out of all the characters I’ve written, I’m definitely most like her. But all my characters have a small piece of me inside them 🙂

What is your favorite 80s movie?

Probably 16 Candles, but I also love The Goonies 🙂

Describe yourself as a teenager.

Slightly chubby, braces, shy, only confident around family and close friends, useless at sport… I used music and my imagination to get me through a bunch of tough times at school.

Current works or upcoming releases?
I have a few in the pipeline….

Feb 16th – True Colors, The Masks Series #1 is coming out. This series is about a girl who is gifted the ability to read people’s emotions. It throws her into a scary world where she can suddenly see everybody’s hidden demons and a few things she just cannot ignore. We are celebrating the release with a Masquerade Ball if people would like to join – giveaways, competitions and the chance to pick up a copy of the book for only 99c! https://www.facebook.com/events/468910383213992/

I also have another series coming out in the first half of 2014. It is a 2-book series – I Know Lucy and Set Me Free about a boy who is falling in love with the mysterious new girl at school, but he keeps finding out things about her, which make him question who she really is. How do you fall in love with someone when all the evidence suggests she’s a lying thief?

Currently I am running a big Christmas Giveaway, if you’d like to be a part of that, you can check out details on my blog: http://melissapearl.blogspot.com

Future plans?

The above three books I mentioned are being published by Evatopia Press. I’m so excited to be working with them. My plans for 2014 are to produce four books with them and then two of my own books as well. I have a new Contemporary Romance series (stand alone novels) that I want to start next year and I also have another story that’s been close to my heart for a while, which I might try publish at Christmas time.

I have also been invited to be a panelist at utopYA 2014 so I will be traveling to the States in June, which I am SOOOOOO excited about 🙂

Fab interview girls! I’m glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read Divergent yet… I’m so far behind!
